What Am I doing?

For this project, I will be covering many aspects of what it takes to be an independent artist. This includes:

• the roles and responsibilities and what it takes to be successful. 
• Investigating and understand all the revenue streams available for financial exploitation. 
• Types of deals - What deals artists can get from record labels
• Exploring what other artists do and how they brand their products. 
• Experimenting with different genres, songwriting and production techniques.
• researching and developing a market plan 
• Developing and rolling out a live event 
• Including a summary of my current experience and skill set and the challenges that I may face through this process. 

I will also be trying out different samples within my drafts. This will hopefully help be obtain ideas and help me to progress within my skills to create music.

The genre that I have chosen to do is trap.  Instead of the mumble rap which is included in trap, I have gone for the lyrical side of trap, which is artists such as; Drake, XXXTentacion, Trippie Redd, 6Lack and Travis Scott who can either rap or sing, but the song usually tells a story.
The main trap elements like the 1/16th note hi-hat, but I would like to include the hip hop side and add good lyrical content and vocabulary. 

The slang word trap has numerous definitions, but is mostly used to refer to any place where drugs are being exchanged. A trap can be anywhere, it can be an open spot where police haven't a clue or a house which dealers typically refer to as a trap house.
